Not been here in a fair few years but they made my daughters year!!! We popped in on the way back from Edinburgh christmas markets purely for the big wheel, Edinburgh wanted 9 PP for the ride I refused to pay that so M&D's came to the rescue, 2 PP YES 2PP a much more sensible approach to it. Definitely worth the stop. I am not a scrooge but I know when I am being ripped off. Well done M&D's for the common sense approach.
The first machine we went on was the simulator and it broke down, doors would keep opening during the ride and it cost 4 for me and the little one. When asking for a refund it was a straight no, even though it wasn't working properly! I would have taken tokens or a go on another machine as a refund but the attitude I got was "Not my problem". Won't be back!
We got a season pass on offer and Id say that was extremely good value. Great for random days out for the kids. However I dont think Id want to regularly pay the on the day price, as its essentially a slightly bigger funfair. Some of the staff arent that great, they look unhappy or not interested. We got more than our moneys worth for the season pass though, and loved the special monthly extras for members.
Just been to the winter wonderland. It was quite good. The prices aren't as expensive as some places you would go to. It was a Saturday so busy as you would expect. It could be better sign posted around the place so you know where to go.Parking facilities: the sign is quite small if you miss it you have to drive for a bit and come back after the round about. When walking back to the car it was dark and there's no lighting so it's not very safe walking with young children, especially as it was wet so there was giant puddles you didn't really know about until you where stood in them up to your ankles.It's also not very accessible. There was one wheelchair lift but its apparent the place wasn't built with disability in mind or to be buggy friendly, it's been more of an afterthought. The facilities were fine, lots of cubicles and they were clean, but again didn't see much of baby change or disabled toilets.Overall an ok outing if you're local, but it desperately needs updated.
Great fun for all the family, but shop around for the best deals on wrist bands. Don't forget to take lots of cash too, not everything is included on the wristbands. On the other hand, you can also just buy tokens on the day for rides and stalls, so you can budget that way. These tokens or fun points are loaded on to a prepaid card and you can keep them for next time, so you pop in when passing. Same thing with the tickets from the gaming machines and the prizes don't require a million ticket points each.Pool, snooker, bowling, soft play etc etc are also available as well as gambling machines from 2p upwards.Queues aren't to bad and there is no charge at all to just go in for a wee look see.Dogs are welcome and there are a variety of food options that won't break the bank, or take a picnic and go for a walk in the grounds of Strathclyde Park.Parking is free and there are plenty of reasonable hotels nearbyOur kids loved it. So did us big kids. Highly recommended for a once in a while treat!
